Repalcing Retrospect?
Hi Dave
Couple of questions to set my mind straight if you dont mind. Running OSX 10.4.3 with retrospect, backing up across our LAN to a Lacie tape drive, from a 0S9.2.2 server nightly, with rotating weekly tapes. (upgrading the server soon to Mac OS Server 10.4.3) but for the time being...... Can I set SD 2.0.1 up to do the same as Retrospect?, ie the above to a tape drive, or would thier be another way that you could suggest? cheers Budgie |

Nope -- we don't support tape or optical. The way to do this would be to push a backup image to a disk set up on the server. See the User's Guide for instructions -- there's a section on backing up over a network in there.
Hope that helps, Budgie.

hi Dave
yup, it helped, sort of.......im trying to back up files from a network server disk to my hard drive, not the other way around, which is how "Backing up over a network" comes across to me. Budgie |
