Longer to Update pre-binding and Spotlight for 10.6 version
Super Duper 2.6 (v 85) seems to take "much" longer to "Update pre-binding" and to also "Update Spotlight " with 10.6. As I recall with 10.5 and earlier, these items were practically instantaneous.
Just a curiousity thing, mainly. Thanks. |

Updating prebinding is new to v2.6, and helps to ensure that your backup is bootable. It can take a few minutes, but they're well spent (see the other threads on the forums). Restoring spotlight state shouldn't take any time... doesn't here...

I just ran SD for the first time with Snow Leopard and got the following error at the end:
Error | /Applications/SuperDuper Script/fix_prebinding.sh: line 4: update_prebinding: command not found What do I do??? |

Uncheck that option in the advanced tab of Options: it's no longer necessary.

Thanks...I just was about to write that I had figured it out by reading another post saying prebinding was not necessary under 2.6.

update prebinding hanging
Hi Dave:
I also have a problem with 'update prebinding' hanging (++ hours). You suggest above to uncheck this item under 'advanced option'. however I do not fin a check box to do so (am I blind again). SD 2.7.1 on OS X 10.8.2. Lex |
