Updating Internal Drive to SSD
I have a 2011 MacBook Pro running Sierra with a mechanical OEM drive. I also have a reliable external bootable clone on an OWC drive. Do you see any issues with the following strategy:
Install the new SSD in the laptop; Boot from the external clone, connected to the laptop via FW 800; format the SSD internal drive via Disk Utility; Clone via SuperDuper from external to the internal SSD. This seems simple enough....any caveats? Last edited by brich; 11-23-2017 at 08:32 PM. |
