smart backup of multiple partitions at once?
I use SuperDuper very successful, to backup my OS X partition.
Now I would like, to upgrade to a bigger harddrive and will have 3 partitions: Macintosh, Bootcamp, Archive I would like, to plug in my external harddrive and run a smart backup, to have all OS X partitions saved in one step. In SuperDuper, I can only pick one partition at once. How can I do the backup? Can I do a SuperDuper backup of my bootcamp partition too, if I do it in FAT32 ? This would save me one extra backup procedure too. |

You can only copy one volume at once with SuperDuper! (although you can schedule any number of backups, a minute apart, and have them run back to back).
We cannot copy BootCamp volumes.

Cannot select volume in SuperDuper
Thanks for the answer Dave.
I made the partitioning and transferred my OS X installation from the main drive to the new (still external) drive. I have now these volumes on the drive: Macintosh HD, Windows HD, Archive (Fat32, to allow full access from both OSs). I tried, to transfer my archived data from another external harddrive to the Archive volume. Within SuperDuper, I cannot select either volume (not the external hdd with archived data and not the new main drives volume "Archive"). Can I only backup OS X system volumes with SuperDuper? This would work against my intent, to have the least needed data (archives) seperated on the slowest area of the hdd, while the OS volumes sit on the faster sectors. |

That's right: only HFS+ (Mac OS Extended).

menos,
Here's a possible alternative to your shared FAT32 filesystem … Paragon NTFS for MAC OS X – release history (version 7.0) says: • Fast and transparent access to HFS/HFS+ (the Mac® file system) under Windows I have no experience with that product, just happened to notice it on MacUpdate shortly after seeing your post here. |

There's also PC/Mac Drive (from Mediafour).
