Need To Stop Clopy Process Manually

Hi Dave

Got another dilemma , (actually the same dilemma as before).

I'm still trying to work the bugs out of this SeriTek/2ME4-E 4 port PCIe card in my Mac Dual Core with 10.4.11.

It seems I can't complete a clone process successfully without having to stop Super Duper manually. Even with the warning prompt 'It will be left in an unknown state'. What I've done, (thru testing), is to manually stop the process, (it seems to always hang near the end). Then start it up again with the remainder of what's left to copy, and it finally completes itself. Of course during the copy process I always use 'SMART Update', which should erase/delete any uncompleted files and finish the process.

Is this a good idea? If I'm to keep this darn card, it seems that's the only thing that will work.

OR

Perhaps I should finally scrap the card for a totally different one.

Thank You
Happy Thanksgiving
Mike

I can't see how that would be a reasonable way to continue using the card, Mike...

Happy Holidays Dave!

I think I got the system to stabilize, and the 4 port SeriTek card to function properly finally completing many TEST copy processes with Super Duper.

Formatted new system drive, 10.4.11, (removal of conflicting drivers), use of correct 'eSATA' cables, NOT 'S-SATA' cables (there is a differnance).

'Hopefully good to go'

I've asked you this question before, is there a Super Duper for Windows? I've tried a few programs with only marginal results.

And is there anything 'Carbon Copy' does that Super Duper doesn't do?

Wondering why quite a few people turn to 'Carbon Copy' (I think I have the name right?)

I STILL LOVE SUPER DUPER

Thank you Dave

Well, I'm glad things have started working better.

There's no SD! for Windows, no - sorry. Not something we have planned.

There are people "turning to" different software every day, and every product has its strengths, weaknesses, fans and detractors: SD! is no different. I think you guys are all capable of making your own comparisons and making your own decisions.
