on the source. Any folders in there (not aliases or links)?
When my back up drive must have been failing, my Mac HD mysteriously gained many GB after SD ran so I moved a lot of folders(images only) to my external drive to free up space. At that time, I never thought of looking for duplicates. Then, I made a mistake and had sd copy from Mac HD to my external, not the back up, emailed SD for help and clicked "STOP". After that, I found duplicate files of all kinds on my external drive and placed them in the trash. I assume that is because of the aborted copy. SD told me to follow the above instructions but I don't know what I'm supposed to type in the box. Also, I believe the back up drive was failing for weeks(I schedule SD once/week) and am afraid thousands of image files may well be damaged so that's why I don't throw out the trash.

Sorry for this lengthy correspondence--I can't believe you are willing to take the time to help me. thanks very much. Randall
