How to get scripts to run in proper order?
Dave:
I have three scripts for scheduled copies: #1 backs up from main internal drive to Time Capsule as sparse image. Initial copy took many hours. Incrementals take less than 30 minutes. Action at end of script is Do Nothing. #2 backs up from main internal drive to second internal drive. Action at end of script is Do Nothing. #3 backs up from main internal drive to third internal drive. Action at end of script is Shut Down Computer. #2 and #3 run every day at 2:35AM and 2:40AM respectively. Everything is normal. On days when #1 runs first, beginning at 2:30AM, it runs for about 25 minutes followed by #3 and then #2. This is my problem. #3 has the Shut Down Computer command at the end of the script. SD! overrides this command to allow #2 to run, but then the computer doesn't shut down. I had hoped that the designated start times would determine the order in which the scripts would run when #1 runs "overtime" but that doesn't seem to be the case. How can I get the scripts to run in proper order? |
