New User confused a bit....
Ok, I purchased the software, love it! Works without issues.
On my old pc laptop I did something called incremental backups. Meaning only the files that have been changed on the laptop, therefore creating a much smaller image, but also requiring me to use the oriignal large backup for restoring, if needed. How do I do this with superduper? The lingo is so different that it is a bit confusing. Thanks |

Assuming I understand what you're saying, we don't do that. See the Introduction to the User's Guide for a general discussion of the issue...

Ok, got that part figured out.
Next question is speed. It is going at about 8 MB/s and I am using a Maxtor OneTouch III with firewire. Shouldn't it be much faster? I tried to do the non-compression thing mentioned in the FAQ but that is for a much older version which doens't seem to have those options to uncheck anymore. Any Advice? |

No, that's about how fast it should be going. On an Intel Mac, you should get about 8-12MB/s overall on a full backup when it's done.
(Theoretical speeds are typically protocol-level speed while streaming pure data -- you're copying a whole pile of tiny files, updating directory entries, adding metadata, etc.)

Well, perhaps if you stare at it and murmur encouraging words...
