Problem using iPod
I use a 40 gb iPod to backup the main partition on my Powerbook. Using SuperDuper I created a script which ignores my iTunes Music folder and then did an initial complete backup to the iPod of all files except for the iTune Music files. This worked perfectly and resulted in a bootable backup drive.
I restarted from my main partition and then allowed iTunes to copy all my music files to the iPod. Here's my problem. When I do a smart update SuperDuper removes the Music files from the iPod which requires me to reinitialize the iPod and copy the music files back to the iPod once again. Is there any way to avoid having the smart update remove the iPod's music files? Thanks for the help! Martin Kalman |

At present, not with Smart Update. However, there are some techniques you can use to store a backup on a drive that has files on it. There are two FAQ entries, on the forum, that go into this:
http://www.shirt-pocket.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74 and http://www.shirt-pocket.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81 Hope that helps!

iPod question
I'll use either the copy newer of copy different option. These are probably safer choices for me in the long run.
Thanks again, Martin Kalman |
