Aaargh!
Here's the scenario:
Mac came with 160GB HDD. I'm ready to replace it with newly purchased HDD. Did backup using superduper and backup - all files option. Boot off of new drive and *pouf*, there are things that do not work. Specifically Software Update and More Info ... under "About This Mac" All I want to do is exactly mirror the old HDD to the new one and pickup where I left off. I'm not interested in backing this or that selected item up. I just want to mirror my old drive, a la Ghost, reboot on the new drive and be exactly where I was before. Nothing lost, nothing changed, etc. Is this possible or did I just waste $27.95? Thanks! |

On the copy, please use Onyx or Cocktail (see VersionTracker) to rebuild your "Launch Services" database. That should resolve your problem.
