New iMac coming today
Hi Dave,
I will receive a new iMac in a couple of hours. Both the "old one" and the "new one" are running MacOS 10.6.8 (I don't want Lion now because I have some apps needing Rosetta...). I didn't use the migration assistant for a while, and I just wanted to be sure that I use it with a connected SD clone of the old system, it will bring back to the new machine both data, parameters, and all applications ? Thanks in advance for your confirmation and best regards. Michel PS : by the way, from your experience, what will be the duration for the migration (the SD! clone is around 500 Go), the iMac is a core i3 machine (3Ghz) and I will connect it using FW800 ? Edit : I should have read the FAQ before posting... sorry. I am still interested if you can provide an estimation for the time required for the migration...
