If it works
and it does, no need to muck with it. There isn't anything missing that I can imagine.
So long as you all stay in business.
There might be a use for a supported product like Winclone.

I've had trouble with Western Digital external drives myself. It looks like Seagate as of now is only doing USB 2 and USB 3 drives, though (looking for one to backup my wife's iMac yesterday). Even...

Auto shut down
For whatever little it helps, I can get my Mac Pro to either sleep or shutdown automatically after an SD job completes.

SuperDuper and Metadata
I use SD 2.5 as my primary backup (with TimeMachine going to another volume). Before Leopard, the general feeling was that SD was one of the few ways to get a backup with all the metadata preserved...

The same thing for me with Leopard; under Tiger, the machine would always fo the scheduled backup. Under Leopard, never. The log shows nothing; no error messages in red, nothing in the system or...

DiskWarrior and DriveGenius and the like only seem to work with Leopard if you boot from their CD/DVD. New versions are promised but not ready yet.
After an archive and install, I've had crashes...

Backup software
I think with backup software I'd rather know something didn't work than use something that other people have reported errors on that I didn't see myself. The worst situation is thinking you have a...

I do something like this, usually just my documents folder, with Chronosync (there are plenty of other programs like it). I've done it with my whole user folder, but it strikes me that some...

CCC and SD
For some reason I feel products like these all need to be supported, so I've paid for both SD and CarbonCopyCloner. A programmer or company who cares enough to try to do a good job needs support.

SD And Time Machine
I'm using Time Machine, but that once an hour backup always seems to come on when I'm doing something else, and it slows the heck out of everything. It's nice to have the backup, but it's nice to...

I also tried updating a clone backup with CCC. It worked, but gave an error message that it could not delete some Toast 8.0 directory on the target. I've no idea what it meant, but it doesn't give...

There are still things that don't work quite right with third party products and Vista, over a year after its release. Video drivers are often still buggy; and there are still plenty of things that...

The minor little points that you guys seem to be taking so long to get right are the things that make restores from an SD backup work so well. In theory, you can boot from the Leopard DVD and restore...

That's what I thought. If SD got corrupt, it wouldn't run.
I suspect those partitions were corrupt before the crash, but I can't think how I could check that. I've never had corruption like that...
