Software updates

iTunes and Quicktime updates are available via software update. When I updated I also heard my Maxtor external HD clicking away. I checked my iMac HD and the proper updated versions were on it. Do I need to do anything else, other then let SD work it's magic, and will the updates automatically be put on my External HD?

Nothing special need be done other than your normal copy: after all, software updates do little more than simply change files!
