Well, the thing is that a lot of the volume has no meaning in a folder. Many of the files you're talking about are system files, but you no longer have a valid system... in the end, if you're just trying to keep the data in a folder, I wouldn't delete anything, since the space is probably less valuable than what might be deleted by making a mistake.
