SDCopy: Error "Input/output error" encountered while setting HFS meta data

I have a problem in that SuperDuper failed to smart update to a network-mounted sparseimage in the last few days. The log shows:

I tried repair permissions with Disk Utility, and it ran successfully.

Then I tried repair disk, which failed midway.

I also tried to move CoreServices (on the sparseimage) to Trash, but Empty Trash complains some files are in use and would not purge them.

Please help!
