Unhappy Error "Operation not permitted" encountered while setting HFS meta data
Hi,

I just wanted to do a complete system backup but SuperDuper always fails.

Specs:
MacBook Rev. B
Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2 with all the latest updates
160GB external Harddrive (USB2)
80GB internal Harddrive

It looks like your local copy of git has some broken/damaged soft or hard links.

Well, you can uninstall and reinstall your copy of git, fix the link(s) by hand, or delete it.

The file is listed in the log:

/Volumes/Rest 1/usr/local/bin/git-runstatus

If you do an ls -la, you should see the files that are damaged... it's likely going to be easier to uninstall and reinstall these 3rd party tools.

I deleted this "git-runstatus" and continued with the backup but then I got the same error for a jpg which I then deleted and now the same for an icon...

Is there any way to automatically fix all of this broken files? Otherwise it takes DAYS to backup my drive because I have to manually fix them all.

The files are damaged, so it's hard to know what to suggest other than "repair them". Did you confirm that they're as I indicated -- broken/damaged files?

We're looking into what we might be able to do with this case in SD! itself, but in general we stop on errors.

Yes those files are somehow damaged, when I try to open them I get an error message.
