Migration Strategy Question

Dave, I'm purchasing a 12" PowerBook G4 1.5, and I'm want to determine the best strategy for cloning my desktop to that PB. I already use SD to clone the internal 10.4.5 system to external firewire; so I think I could attach the external drive to the PowerBook and use the Migration Assistant. If I do this, should I avoid migrating anything specific? Or, could I actually just clone from FW to the PB? The latter is a refurb which may be running an earlier version of Tiger. Appreciate any suggestions.

Exactly -- just attach the external drive and use Migration Assistant. That's what I'd do...

Sounds good....thanks. If I want to migrate my cloned applications from the FW to the PB, should that work ok?

Also, would it be better to Migrate first and then upgrade OSX on the PB to current, or does it matter?

Yes, that'll work OK. You'll definitely want to migrate first, during the first boot, so it imports your accounts, etc.
