Urgent troubleshooting!
Hello - I was performing my weekly Smart Update back-up when the back-up Firewire disk cable got accidentally disconnected and the back-up process was interrupted. My computer now displays the "Start-up Disk is full" error message (even though there should be approximately 25Gb left) and indeed it shows 0Kb left in the Finder window. Despite a folder by folder search I cannot locate the mystery files (duplicates?) that are clogging up the disk, they are probably invisible. I am not sure what to do -I don't want to initiate a new back-up by fear of compromising my back-up disk, but I am really hoping to salvage the recent info on my hard disk that hasn't been backed up yet. Could someone advise?
Thanks so much!!!! |

Use Finder's "Go To Folder" menu to open
/Volumes One there, look for a folder (not a link/alias) with the same name as the backup drive. Delete that folder and your space should return.
