Real World Success

Just wanted to share this with everyone:

I decided to go to Super Duper away from Retrospect for a client of mine after running Retrospect for 15 years, mostly just for the ability to make a bootable backup and it's simplicity.

He called me the other day indicating his office was unable to access the FileMaker databases that were running on the server. I connected in and didn't see anything in the FM Server log or any other errors. After digging, I found on 26 April 2007 there was a software update from Apple. Knowing nothing else had changed, I configured the system to boot up from the last backup prior to that update and test my theory.

Not only did SuperDuper work flawlessly to allow me to boot up and verify this was in fact the reason for the failure, I was able to then restore the entire server from that backup and get him back up and running in a matter of a couple of hours - including all of the troubleshooting time.

Thanks!!!!
