Sandbox w\Archive & Install

If I Archive & Install the Sandbox, w\o preserving user & network settings, will that adversely affect the connection between the Sandbox and its original volume?

Why would you archive-and-install over a Sandbox? You should just recreate it.

Sandbox w\Archive & Install

I had two things in mind w\question; 1-testing an incremental or major OS update while cleaning out possible OS corruption from within the Sandbox, 2-an Archive & Install to clean\remove possible OS corruption. In either case, I'm trying to avoid (or at least minimize) a complete and tedious, from the ground up, reinstallation of an OS (new or present) via the Sandbox.

It's no problem testing various updates, but while I don't see why Archive and Install wouldn't work, it's a lot faster to Smart Update the Sandbox from the original volume.

Sandbox w\Archive & Install

For some time I was experiencing a number of unexplainable Kernal Panics. Apple tech support, from average techs to their specialists went through various procedures until we\I was facing a clean re-install to clear out any system corruption. Fortunately the problem disappeared when I removed Saft and that's been over a month now. Nevertheless, how to apply such a re-install is still a matter of interest, hence the original question. Besides, when Leopard arrives, I''ll want to install it in my Sandbox first before I update my HDD. Normally I'd preserve the User & Network settings but with this last experience, I think I'd like to have as fresh a start as I can. Hopefully I've clarified the matter. As always, thanks for a stellar product and outstanding customer support.
