Safety Clone and Apple Backup query

I am using a SuperDuper! Safety Clone (shared users and applications) on a separate drive from the original OS X 10.3.7 install and use an automated script for Apple's Backup program to back-up my files to my iDisk. Backup will not work while I'm in the Safety Clone although it will work fine if I'm booted into the original OS X partition. Is there a work-around for this?

Unfortunately, no. It's a limitation of Backup, which will not work if the Home folder isn't on the same volume as the boot volume.

You could report the problem to Apple, though -- they really should support this configuration!

Thanks for the quick reply Dave! Yes, I will report this Backup limitation to Apple... any ideas from you all as to where I should send the problem report for the most effective action on it?

I'd suggest .mac support, since Backup is a .mac feature...
