"Check for updates" down 2006-07-31

The "check for updates" (automatic or manual) is not working as of 2006-07-31 14:28PDT. I get the message:

The version check failed due to a "timed out" error. Contact support@shirt-pocket for assistance."

The check fails on all three of my SuperDuper mac's, all running the same OS (10.4.7), 2/3 were up to date; the third was not (2.1.1 or something), but when I logged onto the web site and updated, it went just fine.

This just started failing today as far as I can tell; has something changed, or is your update site down?
