Red face cloning macbook pro with bootcamp

hi,

I have a macbook pro(OS X tiger) with bootcamp(Win vista), I'd like to clone this to an external USB drive, after that I'd like to boot from the external drive, is this possible with SuperDuper? Thanks,

Xcode960

Sorry, no: we don't copy Windows volumes. We're happy to copy the HFS+ part of the drive, however!

thanks for the quick reply, does that mean that:

the native OS X can be cloned to the external USB and bootable? win partition is simply ignored?

Yes, as long as the USB drive is properly partitioned (as GUID) and your Mac is an Intel Mac.

How about I do it another way around:

1) pull out the hard disk from macbook pro and put into a USB enclosure.
2) can I boot from this external hard disk either from OS X or Windows?
3) boot OS X from the external hard disk and clone it to a new hard disk in the macbook pro?

possible?

Should be possible. Same partitioning rules apply.
