No error messages

Thanks for the quick response! I'm using the standard script "Backup - all files" from my internal hard drive to an external La Cie FW drive with the Smart Update option selected. The backup seems to work just fine (i.e. all messages on the SD progress screen are as expected and target drive can boot the OS and all data is as it should be). Before the copy the Repair permissions option is selected and the ShutDown Computer option is selected upon successful completion. When the copy has completed SD just sits there as if the Do Nothing option for successful completion had been selected. I let it sit several minutes just to give it plenty of time to start the shutdown process. There are no crashreporter logs (didn't expect any - no crash), but I'll check the console log next time for any clues.

Brian
