The SD user manual is a PDF downloadable from this site for free. I believe it recommends use of a firewire drive as the recommended solution with this app. While I haven't used SD in the Enterprise, I've found it to be totally reliable and indispensable for 3 Mac systems in my home office. By the way, Dave Nanian (SD developer) normally is av ailable to respond personally to user question like yours. Any number of his customers will readily confirm that his app and his support are top-shelf!
