10.4.4

I've just upgraded to 10.4.4 and tried to do a smart update but it seems to have stalled - the last log entry is over an hour ago and was about /library. Is there an issue with 10.4.4?

No, there are no known issues with 10.4.4, and we've been testing with it for some time.

If you run the following command in Terminal, it'll show what's being copied (please use copy/paste):

sudo lsof | grep SDCopy

You'll have to press Return, enter your password (which won't echo) and press Return. The last few lines show the file we're copying. Is it large, perhaps?

We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:

#1) Respect the privacy of others.
#2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility.

ie nothing appeared as I've put the full activity including a couple of returns I did. Still sitting at 12 hours and no change so I have emailed log.

OK, Iain -- I'll watch for the email, and we'll continue there. Once we've figured it out, you can post a summary here if you'd like.
