Working around a bad disk?
I have been running S.M.A.R.T. Reporter and it reports that my disk is going bad
![]() So, my question is this...is there any way to work around this so that I can create a backup clone before I bury the hard drive in the back yard and get a new one? |

You should be able to modify the Backup - all files copy script to ignore the bad file, if you can't get the trash to empty. To do so:
- Choose File > New Copy Script - Enter a description in the first tab - Include "Backup - all files" in the 2nd - In the 3rd, navigate to the "bad file" add add it to the list. Make sure the command is "ignore" - Save with an appropriate name, and choose instead of "Backup - all files" That should be all that's necessary.
