NDAS Network Drives & SuperDuper
Does anyone know if SuperDuper backs up successfully to the new NDAS network attached drives. Do these drives appear just as a USB or Firewire drive would on the desktop?
Thanks in advance. Last edited by zwarbo; 09-03-2007 at 05:42 AM. Reason: email notification |

NDAS? Haven't seen them, but if it shows up as a 'directly attached' drive, and is HFS+, it should work.

NDAS by Ximeta Inc
Here is a link with the product info, it looks really good, however they don't say much about the Mac side of things. For the PC side drives seem to come up as C, E, F etc, and the "D" in NDAS does stand for direct so heres hoping.

It Works!
I went and purchased a Ximeta drive and it works as expected
![]() I initally connected the drive via USB locally & then partitioned the drive & used SuperDuper to backup for the first time via the USB connection. (so it wouldn't take as long to backup 100GB). Then I installed the Ximeta drivers, plugged the drive into the network & mounted the drives wirelessly, ran SuperDuper again as a smart update & hey presto all changes copied. The Mac software from Ximeta is OK, but nothing flash. You can't have more than one computer connected to the drive, so need to unmount the drive after each use. |
