Starting up in an external drive.
I'm a newbe to the Mac system so maybe you'll understand a simple question. I have installed an external hard drive partitioned into Backup HD and Data HD. Backup HD is a full backup made with SD and is startable. BUT..... to startup in the external it was necessary to go to the "startup disk" and select the drive I wish to use for starting.
My question is this. If my iMac hard drive fails, how do I sartup into the external if I don't have access to the "startup disk" to select the drive? Is my method of starting up correct or is there a simpler way? Hap |
