Starting off fresh with Leopard
Once Leopard is available, I plan to do a clean install rather than an upgrade. I upgraded from Panther to Tiger, but think the way to go is no more than one upgrade before a clean install.
Before doing this, of course, I will use SD to clone Tiger to a bootable FireWire drive. I believe that I will have to reinstall all none-OS X apps, which could take some time. Fortunately, I will be able to boot into the backup at will when I need to get at an app that I have not yet installed. I expect that I will have to download a new copy of SD from your site and apply my serial number accordingly. Is that the way it works? One other question, will I be able, or should I, copy over my Home folder from the clone (Tiger) to the new installation of Leopard? I wouldn't see any problem with the Documents folder, but the Home folder contains a lot more stuff, which might cause problems with Tiger. Your thoughts. -Bill |

Since Leopard isn't out yet, Bill, I don't think we can really say... no doubt there will be lots of advice from all corners when released.
