Version 2.6.2 - 10.4.11 - Disk Permissions

Hi Gang

Haven't been here in a while.

I have 2.6.2 with 10.4.11, Using two Dat Optic eSata PCIe cards in a Dual Core G5. I use several external enclosures, (no bridge), straight up eSata connections. These enclosures contain #2 2TB drives, data files only - NO OS. Question regarding Disk Permissions: At times, I've encountered a longer than usual 'smart update during copy', (seems a mystery). There shouldn't have been a complete copy, (just an update). Which settings should be employed by both disks? (The source disk and the back up).

Currently they all appear to be set with myself as 'the owner', 'READ N WRITE', straight down the line, ignor ownership is 'UNCHECKED'. I work 'solo', no one here but me ....

BTW - Effective Copy speed is initially faster, approx. 10,000 MiB/s then slows down to about 2,000 MiB/s or less. And depending on the drive, the 'All Clear Green Indicators' sometimes take a few seconds to come up. *Sometimes as long as 10-20 seconds.

Thanx
Mike
