Scheduled SD! found spinning its cog wheel for ever

I have SD! Version 2.5 (84) scheduled to run at 9:30pm each day on my wife's 20" Alu iMac 2.4 GHz which is running latest Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5. SD! is configured to backup (Smart update) the boot volume to a connected FW400 HDD.

For the most part this works with little needed attention.

However, I find at times the scheduled SD! has been sitting all night with a spinning cog wheel in top left hand corner and with no destination HDD being display in it main window. This happens very infrequently but when my wifes sees this she freaks out and you know who to come to the rescue.

Anybody else see this at times. Thanks.....
