wake call

From reading of the guide it appears that my imac can not be in sleep mode in order for superduper to work. Is this correct? if so, that means I should manually turn off my energy saver and my screen saver or is there an another procedure or program/script that is better? ( now I'm a novice, but I have been reading, gathering data ).

Besides picking a time to backup, have the users on the discussion board come up with a comfortable back up schedule for their data? Please share. Thank you.
