VM Storage File error

I am trying to do a final backup before replacing a disk with about 1 GB free out of 60. Whether I do a Smart Update or Erase and copy, it chokes with an I/O error on \VMStorage

I would have thought that VM Storage was ignored, is it safe for me to ignore it?

This is on an iMac FP 800 MHz with 10.4.11 - so it is not a 10.5 issue, which seems to be a bit of a rarity these days. 8^)

I'm not sure what the 'VM Storage" folder is, actually. That's not a standard folder...

I have no such thing on any of my machines (Panther to Leopard). I'd edit the backup script to IGNORE the folder.

I found out that it is a MacOs 9 VM file. I dual boot into OS 9 for some kids games. I deleted it before I found out what it was. 8^)

Now I will try the backup again.

Thanks for the quick reply!
