The drive is USB 2.0.
The manufacturer says the drive is supported for OS 9 and later: Windows ME/2000/XP Mac OS 9.0 or later Linux kernel 2.4.x and above The drive connects, works, makes a copy, etc, just that I can't boot from it. I am currently trying to clone the drive one more time to make sure I just didn't screw something up. That being said, I am not 100% attached to this. The reason I bought this drive is because it also can be used to copy USB drives, as well as being able to dump digital camera pics right on to the device (it has an optional battery pack). Assuming the latest clone doesn't work as a bootable copy, I can continue to use this drive/case for this purpose, and buy another case. Can anyone recommend a 2.5" Firewire or USB 2.0 case where I can insert my own 100GB IDE laptop drive (which i already own)? Thanks, Trebz |
