Automatic multiple backups
I just registered the software last night before upgrading to Tiger. So far so good! My question concerns scheduling of automatic backups. I downloaded Cronnix and I have your daily backup Applescript so I understand things that far.
I have two hard drives I'm backing up to two external drives. My question is this: does the backup script save the settings for the drives or does it just launch SuperDuper and use whatever the last device setting were there? Thanks for the great software and keep up the good work! Looking forward to that great GUI for scheduled automatic backups! |

Glad to hear it, and thanks for the registration.
If you want to back up two drives on a scheduled basis, you'll have to run TWO scripts. You'll want to duplicate the Daily Backup application, and name it something else. Then, start Script Editor and drop the application on it. Once it's up, change the "run using settings "Daily Backup" without user interaction", replacing "Daily Backup" with something else -- like "Daily Backup 2". Save the file (as an application, which should be the default). Then, set up the 2nd backup in SuperDuper! and save the settings as what you used above (like "Daily Backup 2"). Schedule both with CronniX or iCal, and you're all set.
