Hard Drive Power Down
Is there a place anywhere within SD that will allow for an external hard drive to sleep or to power down when it's not in use?

Just eject it. On schedule, we'll automatically mount, copy and eject.

Success But?
I did eject it, and it successfully re-mounted and backed up on schedule, but when it ejected on it's own the external hard drive kept running. Any further suggestions?

That's something you'd have to discuss with the drive manufacturer. Most drives spin down.
