Hi David:
First of all I wanted to thank you for your prompt support for a problem I was having with backing up my wife’s computer over a network. Restarting the “target” Mac solved the problem. Thank you very much! On another topic, I am having a problem backing up my Powerbook to an external, partitioned LaCie 500gb drive. A manual copy works fine but a scheduled copy hangs. Here is the log information: | 11:30:30 PM | Info | SuperDuper!, 2.0.1 (76), path: /Applications/Utilities/ More Utilities/Backup/SuperDuper!/SuperDuper!.app, OS: 10.4.3 (8F46) | 11:30:30 PM | Info | Source Drive: Hotdog, mount: /, device: TOSHIBA MK6021GAS, interconnect: Internal ATA, file system: "Journaled HFS+", OS: 10.4.3 (8F46), capacity: 55.88 GB, used: 46.98 GB, directories: 62250, files: 263684, ejectable: NO, ACLs: Disabled | 11:30:30 PM | Info | Target Drive: Hotdog Bkup, mount: /Volumes/Hotdog Bkup, device: LaCie BigDisk Extreme, interconnect: External FireWire, file system: "Journaled HFS+", OS: N/A, capacity: 64.87 GB, used: 46.64 GB, directories: 62118, files: 263193, ejectable: NO, ACLs: Disabled | 11:30:30 PM | Info | Copy Mode : Smart Update | 11:30:30 PM | Info | Copy Script : Backup - all files.dset | 11:30:30 PM | Info | Transcript : BuildTranscript.plist | 11:30:31 PM | Info | PHASE: 1. Well, it looks like either the drive is having trouble or that particular file is bad. Let's have you do the copy again, then immediately run a System Profiler report. Choose File > Save in System Profiler, then archive (ZIP) and attach to a message to support (don't put it here -- this is a bad place to clutter with support that'll really only benefit one person). I'll take a look.

Thanks!
Hi Dave:
I'll take the issue to the support email. Sorry about posting here. Thanks for your help. |

No problem at all! I can just give you better help there, and since it's more one-on-one it's a bit more appropriate in email.
