Question Can't restore backup :(

We have the latest version of SuperDuper. We regularly back up our OS X partition to another partion which we call 'Backup'. The other day we installed a new soundcard driver and it messed up the computer. The only way that you can start up now is if you hold down the apple key and chose the OS that way. The old drivers have been removed but it didn't help.

We wanted to just restore our original OS X with the 'backup' version. However when we choose 'backup' as the source, the OS X partion is grayed out We have tried to access it from variuos partitions, but whenever the backup is chosen, OS X is always grayed out.

How do we copy 'backup' to OS X?

You need to start up from it, MMM, and then restore. It won't let you copy to the drive you're started from...

Lightbulb

But we weren't trying to copy from the drive we were in. We have 3 drives. All three show our OS X drive as being grayed out when we choose 'backup' as the source.

I don't think it's starting up from the other drives, then... please verify the startup volume in the About This Mac menu...
