Does iMac HD size need to equal external HD size?
Hi there,
I'm going to buy an external hard drive to back an iMac up onto with SuperDuper! and I've forgotten this simple item: - Does the external hard drive need to be the exact same size as the iMac's hard drive? For example, if I buy a 750GB external hard drive... can I use SuperDuper! to back an iMac up onto it that has an iMac hard drive of 500GB? I believe that I can, but I'm just asking to be sure that both drives do not need to be the same size. One caveat to that is that I know that the external hard drive size should never be smaller that the iMac's hard drive size (since SuperDuper! then wouldn't be able to back all of the iMac up onto the external hard drive). Thanks in advance! CO |
