OK, that all sounds reasonable -- although I don't have direct experience with a Dual Audio machine, I assume (and it may be a bad assumption) that it supports booting from the 2nd internal. That said, you've never had it work that way, and if plain OSX wouldn't do so, SD! definitely won't.

Why Open Firmware won't show it, though, I don't know. If, at the end of the log, you can see we successfully blessed the drive, it really should show up -- that's purely an Open Firmware feature, and if the drive is behaving properly, it should be in the list.

You can try using an external, but it's important to ensure that the case you choose supports Mac boot. OWC, LaCie and WiebeTech drives definitely do. Others might, but often don't, so be aware!

First, though, I'd try installing Tiger on it, and see if you can get that to boot...
