New version was very slow

Just upgraded to SD! 2.7, only to downgrade (from my SD! clone) 6 minutes into first smart update, as it had managed to copy only 500MB in 6 minutes....
v2.6.4 then tried the same backup, and copied...

So a basic lion install on a FW drive can open/close these large sparsebundles without delay, and my main account on internal drive takes 2-3 minutes...

I'll try that, last night I deleted the old sparsebundle, and made a new one, with a name different to its parent volume.... still had trouble (slow) opening when booted from the volume it was cloned...

I have a clone of my main hard drive stored on a NAS as a sparse bundle.
I use a different volume (just a bootable FW drive with my utilities on board) to boot from when performing a smart update....

I would think smart-update would now give you the corrupted file/program on your main drive too - I'd work at sorting out the corrupted file/program before I did a backup if I were you.... maybe copy...

Wow... just got home to see the read-only image I started this am, finished half an hour ago.... :)

383GB hard drive image - took 3hr 50min to create the sparse-image, then another 5hr 20min after...
