Bootable clone of Macbook Air on a USB jumpdrive?

Hi Dave: My wife's old iBook died and we got her a 64GB SSD Macbook Air (11"). Is it possible to have a bootable backup of her SSD on another USB jumpdrive of similar size using Super Duper?

Thanks, Bob Krist

I don't see why not, Bob, if the USB thumbdrive is partitioned/formatted correctly.

Dave: Sorry to be so thick, but what would be the proper partitioning and formatting for such a USB flash drive? the normal Mac OS Extended? thnx, Bob

The same as any other - GUID/HFS+ (Mac OS Extended).

Dave: I'm sorry, does that mean that GUID/HFS+ equals Mac OS Extended or you have to do GUID/HFS+ in addition to Mac OS Extended, and if the latter is true, how do you do that...in Disk Utility? I've never seen the "GUID/HFS+" nomenclature before.

GUID partitioning, HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) format (see the top Frequently Asked Question).
