Which External Hard Drive?

Hi,
I'm a long time SuperDuper! user and I'm about to upgrade my Mac to a shiny new iMac (lucky me!). As it will have a larger internal hard drive I'll also be buying a couple of new external hard drives, one for a Time Machine back up and one for a cloned SuperDuper! backup that I can hopefully use as a bootable back-up if needs be.

I was thinking of getting 2 Western Digital 1TB My Book Studio Edition hard drives, but have read that some people have trouble using these as bootable drives. Is that true? I'll be daisy chaining them via Firewire 800.

Will I be able to boot from a SuperDuper! clone on one of these drives?

Thanks,
Al.
P.S. I've been using a smaller, older WD My Book with my G5 PowerMac for a couple of years and the bootable SuperDuper! clone on that seems fine.

Please do not get a MyBook drive. Get a LaCie d2 Quadra or a G-Tech G-Drive instead.

Thanks Dave... Any reason for not using the MyBook? What have you got against them? I was thiking of getting them because the one I've been using has been flawless whereas my LaCie sounds like a bag of nails! I'm sure you know better than I do though.

Al.

I deal with many thousands of customers, and many thousands of drives, and I've found the MyBooks are, by far, the least reliable of the major brands.

All drives fail, of course...
