Looks to me like

/Volumes/AAWeekly2

isn't present, or isn't present with that name, at the time this ran.

Well... when we turned ownership on, it didn't appear where expected, which is weird. Plus, it's stored on the source drive in the "Copy Scripts" folder, which isn't going to work regardless. You can't store a backup on the volume you're backing up -- it's a 'hall of mirrors' kind of thing, you know?

Anyway, here's what I'd do:

- Restart your Mac
- Remove the image from the Copy Scripts folder
- Recreate your destination image on the proper volume

Then give it another try.

rhennosy 11-09-2007 03:47 PM

That worked.

Thanks. I have another post with another issue now.

shana 11-16-2007 08:13 PM

also failing to mount

I'm having a similar problem with failure to mount. I cam't seem to figure out what the problem might be -- logs below.

I'm running a powerbook g4 10.4.11, I've got a network hard drive (named littlefriend), mounted by snb, but i can hook up directly by usb2.0.

i looked at the disk image discussions on Tiger, and tried to make a disk image using disk utility -- it wouldn't let me, it also says "no such file or directory." am i barking up the wrong tree?

i'd REALLY appreciate some help, i've been trying to do this for weeks, on and off, and can't for the life of me figure it out.
Thanks!

In this case, as I said in reply to your support case, it looks like the path

/Volumes/LITTLEFRIEND/Backups

doesn't exist. So, we can't mount or create the image.

Note that you're much better off writing directly to the backup drive if you can...

Hi, Daniel. If you've also sent your case in, the problem is that your "FreeAgent Drive" is formatted as NTFS, not as HFS+, so it won't work (it's read-only in OSX).
