Maybe a stupid question
Maybe this is a damn stupid question - I just want to make sure.
I'm planning to replace the 80GB internal HD of my brothers iMac G4 with a 300GB drive. Is there anything I have to take care of when using SD2.1 to copy the whole system and all data from the former drive to the new one? I guess not - just copy all and then install the new HD. Voila. Anybody can confirm? Thanks a lot John |
That's right -- that's all there is to it, John. One small thing: name the two drives the same. Should be easy, though -- good luck!

Thanks a lot for the quick feedback Dave. Also for the suggestion with the same name - I would have named it different - but you are right - there is less troubles with paths and stuff when using the same name.
best regards John |
Happy to help, John -- good luck with it.

just a short feedback - all worked perfect. The HD is in and running fine. Back up took about 3hrs - for 328'000+ files. :)
Best regards John |
Great -- thanks for letting us know about your success!
