Shutdown option

The shutdown option sometimes shuts down my mac but sometimes does not. My fallback is to run my own program that starts the unix shutdown process at a specific date/time, but I don't like doing double work (even though it is trivial). Any guess about what might be happening? This is SD 2.0.1 (v76) on OS X 10.4.5 (PM dual G5)

thanks.....Brian Stevens

Do you get any errors, Brian? Does it only fail with "Erase, then copy", or any copy method?

No error messages

Thanks for the quick response! I'm using the standard script "Backup - all files" from my internal hard drive to an external La Cie FW drive with the Smart Update option selected. The backup seems to work just fine (i.e. all messages on the SD progress screen are as expected and target drive can boot the OS and all data is as it should be). Before the copy the Repair permissions option is selected and the ShutDown Computer option is selected upon successful completion. When the copy has completed SD just sits there as if the Do Nothing option for successful completion had been selected. I let it sit several minutes just to give it plenty of time to start the shutdown process. There are no crashreporter logs (didn't expect any - no crash), but I'll check the console log next time for any clues.

OK. Please let me know what you find out -- I've been unable to reproduce the problem in house...
