Missing Mail
Hi
I just got Superduper on Sunday Feb 8th and it worked well. Backed up my 90 + gb hard drive to firewire. I am running Apple Mail. One of the mailboxes got corrupted today (Feb 12) and wiped out a fair amount of my mails, leaving only the more recent ones left. My Mail application looks a little shaky and I anticipate that it may continue to give me problems, and I wish to reinstall and reformat my macbook and restore using superduper. My problem is: a) I have lost mails, making my present state less complete than my backed up state b) I have other new documents / files, but is there a way to do an incremental backup without affecting the mailbox that may have reduced now? Or should I just find a way to back this up manually? Or will incremental backups overwrite the existing files? Is there documentation on this forum for restoring via superduper?? Thanks |
Well, if you have some new files, you can copy them off the old drive (even copying them to the backup). Then, start up from the backup and restore as explained in the User's Guide.
