Cannot unmount primary laptop drive after booting from SuperDuper copy
Hi all,
I have used SD to clone my hard disk on my MB Pro and booted from that image successfully. I now want to unmount the laptop's drive so I can perform a full defrag using iDefrag, however when I try to do this, I get 'The disk "Macintosh HD" could not be unmounted. Make sure that all applications and files are closed on this disk.' I have nothing running at all so I guess there's an internal process keeping a file open. Can anyone suggest what action I might take to unmount this drive? I am using a MB Pro running 10.4.10. Many thanks Darius |
Go back to the original volume and Smart Update the backup. Then, rename it to the same name as the original drive (e.g. "Macintosh HD").
Then, boot from the copy and you should be able to unmount the original. |
