Back up/cloning within two partitions...

I have an 8500/sonnetized with a G4 processor running TIGER courtesy of XPOSTfacto.

There are two internal hard drives :

the original 2 GB drive and a 40 GB which is partitioned into 2 equal parts ( 20 GB each partition ).

The 40 GB internal drive has Tiger on each partition.

Would SD be able to clone a bootable backup from the first Partition to the second Partition ?

( I do not want to clone the Original 2 GB drive just yet. )

You know, Walter, I just don't know. It's been a while since XPost Facto has been in wide use, an I haven't had any recent reports about it. It's possible it'll work, but it also might not.

You may want to search the forums for xpost facto to see if others might have tips "from the mists of time"...

Dave,

It works. So far no problems. Albeit i'll see what happens when i start up the beast tomorrow.

I was glad that it worked because i was able to use DiskWarrior and TechToolPro to rebuild and repair the two partitions because you can't boot up from those utilities.

I use the beast as my midi/audio/video server/slave: it downloads movies via VUZE and cracks/burns DVD's including and a plethora of other midi/audio/jobs.

So chalk up another success story for the SD.

Walter
